ABERDEEN, S.D. – Former Northern State women’s basketball player and Mobridge native  Krista Rabenberg is leaving for Australia today to play professional basketball for the Ringwood Hawks in Melbourne.  Rabenberg continues a line of former Northern State players who have headed to Australia to play for the Hawks, which field both men’s and women’s teams.  Kevin Ratzch, Ryan Miller and Mark Rich have had stints with the Hawks men’s team in the past.  The team is allowed to have two imports and one woman on the team decided not to come back, which opened the door for Rabenberg to join. The Hawks are in the midst of their season right now. It is up in the air if Rabenberg will play for the Hawks next season.  Rabenberg’s last season with the Wolves was during the 2010-11 season, when they qualified for the national tournament in Durango, Colo. This past season, she was an assistant coach for the Presentation College women’s basketball team.
