RAPID CITY, S.D. – The State High School Track and Field meet is underway in Rapid City, Spearfish and Sturgis. The Class AA schools are competing in Sturgis and the first finals from the track saw the Aberdeen Central Girls 4×800 meter relay team win in a time of :9:33.14. Watertown was second and Rapid City Central finished 3rd. The Lady Govs finished 12th in a time of 10:27.01. Sioux Falls Washington won the Boys 3200 meter relay in a time of 7:51.26. Sioux Falls Roosevelt and Sturgis finished 2nd and third. Pierre was 10th in a time of 8:22.94. Those were the only finals scheduled on the track for today. In the Class A 3200 meter boys relay, Madison won the state title with a winning time of 8:26.45. Sioux Valley and Clark-Willow Lake came in second and third. Mobridge-Pollock finished 10th and Miller was 19th. In the girls, Aberdeen Roncalli won the 4×800 relay in Class A in a winning time of 9:45.30. Spearfish finished second followed by Hot Springs. Mobridge-Pollock was 18th. And in Class B in the 4×800 relay, Sunshine Bible Academy won the boys title in a time of 8:17.29. Parker and Wessington Springs finished 2nd and 3rd. Kadoka Area finsihed 8th, Sully Buttes was 13th, Timber Lake was 14th and Lyman finished 15th. Finals in severel different Field Events are also scheduled to be decided today. The rest of the finals will be tomorrow in Rapid City.
