PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) A summer food program is going to kick off soon in Pierre as part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Summer Food Service Program. Lakota Chapel will provide free meals to children from June 4 through August 3. Meals will be served at 2125 East Park Street from 11:30 to 1:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Pastor Cheryl Arguello says any child under 18 can come to eat. Each year, the USDA partners with organizations like Lakota Chapel to make meals available to children when school is out for the summer.
