Fort Pierre Man Arrested for Aggravated Assault for Allegedly Pointing Handgun at Another Person

PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) A Fort Pierre man was arrested for Aggravated Assault Monday afternoon after police were told that a man was pointing a handgun at another person. Pierre Police Captain Elton Blemaster says officers responded yesterday to the 300 block of South Grant about 1:30 p.m. Monday. They arrested 63-year-old Barry Zehr for Aggravated Assault. Blemaster says a handgun was found in Zehr’s possession, however no shots were fired and the 32-year-old Pierre man who was the victim in the case was not injured. Zehr was taken to the Hughes County Jail.
