SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Pierre Lady Governor golf team is 18 holes away from winning the schools first ever State Class AA Golf tournament. The Lady Govs fired a 331 over the first 18 holes to take a 4 stroke lead over Yankton in tomorrow’s second and final 18 holes at the Elmwood Golf Course in Sioux Falls. Sioux Falls O’Gorman is third at 339 and Aberdeen Central lis fourth at 351. Hallie Getz of the Lady Governors fired a 75 and is one shot behind the first round leaders Megan Mingo of Yankton and Haliee Pieper of Watertown. Kristin SAbers of Mitchell is in fourth place after the first round with a 75. Karissa Guthrie of the Lady Govs sits in 10th place with a 81. Katie Bartlett came in with a 87 and is tied for 17th. Paige Lonbakken fired a first round 88 and is tied for 20th. Paige Erickson of the Lady Govs had a 89 on the first day of the tournament and is in a tie for 24th. Tatum Richards had a first round total of 92 and is in a tie for 32nd place. The second and final round will be played tomorrow and conditions are not expected to be very good with strong gusty winds out of the Southeast at 30 to 40 mph forecast.
