‘SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Sioux Falls Pheasants placed the winning run on-base in the bottom of the ninth, but could not overcome the Sioux City Explorers in a 7-6 loss on Friday night at Sioux Falls Stadium. The Birds showed grit by rallying from a 6-1 deficit in the sixth inning, scoring a run in the sixth and a pair in the seventh and ninth innings. Ryan Priddy finished 4-for-4 with three home runs, two home runs and five RBI to lead Sioux City. Pheasants relievers Tom Heithoff and Dan Cooper were impressive in their Sioux Falls debut, combing for just one run and four hits in 4 1/3 innings of relief. The Pheasants look for their first win of the season in game 3 of the season opening series tonight with the venue changing to Sioux City.
