PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) One of the popular warm weather attractions in Pierre and Fort Pierre is Pierre’s Steamboat Park Amphitheater. The structure was damaged in last year’s flooding. Pierre Mayor Laurie Gill says work is underway right now to repair the amphitheater; which she says is another sign the city is moving forward and restoring parts of town that were impacted by the high waters of 2011.
Gill says crews are also doing what they can to seed grass in Steamboat Park and in other public areas of town that were flooded.
Gill spoke this morning on KGFX.
