Jackrabbits lead MVFC in Academic Awards




ST. LOUIS – A league-high 55 members of the South Dakota State University football team have been honored on the 2011-12 Missouri Valley Football Conference Honor Roll, conference officials announced Friday.  The Jackrabbit contingent was led by seniors Brad Iverson and Jason Schlautman, both of whom were among 17 student-athletes to earn the Presidents Council Academic Award. Recipients of the award must maintain at least a 3.5 cumulative grade-point average and be within 18 hours of graduation.  Jackrabbit representatives on the MVFCHonor Roll included: Brandon Andrews, Serkaut Aware, Vince Benedetto, Taylor Bloom, Je Ryan Butler, Jay Carlson, Will Castle, Seth Daughters, Chase Douglas, Tyler Finnes, Jeff Fish, Josiah Fitzsimmons, Trevor Greger, Bo Helm, Brandon Hubert, Brad Iverson, Robbie Jelsma, Josh Kage, R.C. Kilgore, Tyrel Kool, T.J. Lally, Luke Lansman, Michael Lien, Travis Lindstrom, Luke Marks, Rodkem Matthews, Andy Mink, Brandon Mohr, Alex Olinger, Alex Parker, Doug Peete, Matt Peitz, Nick Purcell, Matt Raymond, Ethan Sawyer, Jason Schlautman, Dan Schmidt, Jason Schneider, Patrick Schuster, Ross Shafrath, Kyle Sheehan, Teddy Shonka, Bryce Siverling, Taylor Suess, Austin Sumner, Jordan Thomas, Trevor Tiefenthaler, Brett Tigges, Eric Tuschen, Kyle VanVoorst, Mason Winterboer,Bryan Witzmann, Dom Wright, Winston Wright and Zach Zenner.  More than 300 players from the nine league members were honored on the MVFC Honor Roll.
