HURON, S.D. – The Pierre Governor and Lady Governor Track and Field teams had their final meet of the regular season yesterday as they traveled to Huron to compete in the Mark Wendelglass Invitaitonal and had another very good day on the track. 21 Governors placed while 12 Lady Governors place in events. In the boys, Joe Snyder won the Triple Jump with a leap of 43-3 as 3 Governors placed in the event. Snyder also won the 200 meter dash in a time of :23.6 and Conner Berg won the High Jump as he cleared 6-4. For the Lady Goverenors, Geena Burley won the High Jump clearing 5-2 leading a Pierre 1-2 finish in the event. Sydney Palmer was the Lady Govs other first place winner as she threw the Shot Put 39 feet to win the event. Pierre also had 3 first place finishes in the relay events as they won the 4×200 meter, 4×100 meter and 1600 Sprint Medley Relays. Next up for the Govs and Lady Govs is the State Meet in Sturgis and Rapid City Next Friday and Saturday.
