Lady Gov Golfers win Aberdeen Tournament

ABERDEEN, S.D. – The Pierre Lady Governor golf team made it 3 straight tournament victories yesterday as they won the Aberdeen Invitational Golf Tournament played at the Lee Park Golf Course.  The Lady Govs fired a 334 team score to edge out runner up Aberdeen Central by 2 strokes.  Watertown had a 355 and Mitchell a 397 to round out the team scores.  Hlllie Getz had the best round of the day for the Lady Govs as she fired a 77 to finish two strokes behind tournament champion Haliee Pieper of Watertown who had a 75.  Karissa Guthrie of the Lady Govs finished third with 80 and Katie Bartlett had a top 10 finish with a round of 86 good for 9th place.  Tatum Richards had a 91 and Paige Lonbakken fired a 94 for 12th and 14th place finishes.  Jenna Johnson finished 17th as she fired a round of 100.  Next up for the Lady Govs is the State Class AA tournament next Monday and Tuesday at the Elmwood Golf Course in Sioux Falls.
