PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) The South Dakota Department of Transportation is closing some intersections along Garfield Avenue for one to two hours today-as part of an ongoing reconstruction project on the roadway. Some areas to be impacted by the work today on Garfield, which is also known as U.S. Highway 14B include the intersection with Capitol Avenue, Franklin Street, Humboldt Street, Irwin Street, and Harrison Avenue. Tomorrow, if there are no weather or breakdown delays, the intersections to be closed will be the same as today, with the exception of the Harrison and Garfield Avenue intersection. The truck bypass project started earlier this month. Paving should be done on the project by the end of August and the entire project should be complete by October 15.
