PIERRE, S.D. – The Pierre Post 8 American Legion baseball team dropped two games Sunday in a baseball triangular they hosted at Hyde Stadium. Post 8 dropped a 4-3 verict to Aberdeen and then lost to Rapid City Post 320 by a 8-3 score. Against Aberdeen, Pierre led 1-0 until the 5th inning when Aberdeen scored 3 runs off of reliever Ryan Goodwin who took the loss allowing all 4 runs. Alex McGuigan pitched 4 and a 1/3 innintgs not allowing a run until being lifted for Goodwin. Pierre scored twice in the 7th inning and left the tieing and winning run on base. Against Post 320, Pierre built a 3-0 lead before Rapid City broke thru with 5 runs in the 6th innings and added a pair of insurance runs in the 7th. Willie Welch took the loss allowing 6 runs in 4 2/3 rds innings of work. Pierre had 5 hits in the nitcap as they start the season with a 0-3 record.
