YANKTON, S.D. – The Pierre Lady Governor Track and Field team had a good day Saturday at the ESD Conference Track and Field Meet in Yankton. Courtney Dowling led the way for the Lady Govs winning 3 times on the track in taking the 100, 200 and 400 meter dashes. Tess Johnson won the 100 meter Hurdles and Sydney Palmer took first place by winning the Shot Put. The Governor boys lone champion was Conner Berg in the High Jump as he cleared 6-06. The Governor boys scored 74.50 to finish fifth in the team standings. Brandon Valley scored 146.50 to win the Boys title. The Lady Govs finished second in the girls team standings scoring 124 points, 26 points behind team champion Watertown. The second place finish for the girls is the highest finish in recent memory. Pierre will travel to Huron on Thursday for the regular season ending Wendelglass Meet.
