Memorial/Benefit Accounts Set Up for Victims of April 28 Two Vehicle Accident Near Hayes

PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) Accounts have been set up for two women whose vehicle was involved in crash near Hayes on April 28. The accident occurred on Highway 34 early that day when a pickup drifted into the eastbound lane and collided head-on with a van, driven by 21-year-old Sadie Clark. Clark was injured and a passenger in the van, 28-year-old Heather Unser of Pierre died as the result of her injuries. The driver of the 2004 Ford F350 pickup, 63-year-old Walt Taton of Faith sustained injuries that were not life threatening. He has since been charged with Vehicular Homicide, Vehicular Battery and DUI. He is being held in the Winner Jail on $50,000 cash bond and his preliminary hearing is set for May 30 in Philip.
Unser left behind her husband and three young children. A memorial account has been set up for her family and donations can be given in Unser’s name at BankWest, 420 South Pierre Street, Pierre, SD, 57501.
Clark and her fiancé also have three youngsters and a benefit account has been organized for their family at Home Federal Bank, 322 South Coteau in Pierre, 57501.
