NEW ORLEANS – The Augustana men moved up one spot to No. 22 in the nation, while the women remained No. 9 in the Central Region, released Tuesday in the latest polls by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Association. The Viking men also moved up two places to No. 6 in the Central Region rankings. Aduo Omot holds the fastest time in Division II in the men’s 800 meters while Tom Karbo is ranked top 10 in three men’s events. Karbo is second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and 10th in the 1,500 meters and 5,000 meters. Kyle Blakeslee holds the fourth fastest time in the 3000 meter steeplechase in the nation, while Kristin Brondbo holds the 8th fastest time in the 1500 meter hurdles. Augustana opens postseason action Friday and Saturday at the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Bismarck, N.D.
