A Record is set Saturday at Oahe Speedway

  PIERRE, S.D. – After morning rains on Saturday, the skies cleared enough for racing to begin at Oahe Speedway north of Pierre. Shootout races were held and there was a record set. David Tibert, of Grand Forks, ND, set the new motorcycle record at Oahe Speedway on Saturday. Tibert pushed his 2010 Hyabusa, powered by a 1500cc Suzuki motor, to 8.528 seconds in the quarter mile, at 161.34 MPH. The former record was held by Wade Johnson, of Rapid City. A second day of racing is scheduled to run today at the track located 14 miles North of Pierre.
