Dakota State faces elimination today at A.I.I Baseball Tournament

SAN MARCOS, Cal. – Third-seed Mayville State remained alive in the postseason tournament after handing Dakota State a 13-0 loss in the Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) Baseball Tournament Thursday afternoon.  Since there are five teams remaining in the tournament, the Trojans play again this morning at 11 a.m. (CT) in one of the elimination games. If DSU win the 11 a.m. game, the Trojans will move on to play at 6 p.m. (CT).  Jamestown rallied back from 7-4 deficit with five runs scored in the bottom of the eighth inning to eliminate the top-seed and defending champion Cal State San Marcos. Mayville State and Jamestown will square off at 2:30 p.m. (CT).  Championship game will be held on Saturday, May 5. The tournament’s champion and runner-up teams each receive an automatic bid to the NAIA Baseball National Championship Opening Round.
