PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) The Hughes County Sheriff’s Office continues an investigation into an unusual vandalism that was reported last month in Blunt. Sergeant Darin Johnson of the Hughes County Sheriff’s Office says officials were called April 17 to the report that some areas of grass in a yard on Newberry Avenue were dead-and the dead grass spelled out offense words. Johnson says it’s believed that someone used Roundup or some kind of spray to write the words in big letters and when the grass died, it left the words in place. It’s estimated that the vandalism of the grass left damages of about $400. Johnson says the damage was likely caused about April 14 or 15.
