UNDATED – (DRG News) AARP South Dakota is holding another meeting today as part of it’s “You’ve Earned a Say” series. The organization is holding gatherings in every county in the state in the coming months, to discuss the future of Medicare and Social Security. Meetings were held yesterday in Onida, Highmore and Pierre. Dennis Eisnach of Pierre, who is the State President for AARP South Dakota, says people can listen and talk about both programs-at the meetings that are being held across the state.
Eisnach says AARP would like to get input from citizens of all ages, so when serious talk on Medicare and Social Security begins in the nation’s capital, the organization will already know what people think.
Eisnach says AARP is using the meetings as a series of listening sessions.
Eisnach believes this national and state-wide listening tour is a first of its kind for AARP.
A “You’ve Earned a Say” meeting will be held today in Oacoma at Al’s Oasis from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. There will also be a meeting in Kadoka at Jigger’s on May 15 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. and the location and date of a meeting in Philip will be announced soon. Visit the AARP website at www.aarp.org/sd.
