SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) – A minority owner of the NBA’s Minnesota Timberwolves is selling his majority ownership in minor league hockey and baseball franchises in South Dakota’s largest city. Bill Sexton owns Quartzite Holdings LLC, which is the majority owner of Sioux Falls Sports LLC. Sioux Falls Sports is the parent company for the Stampede hockey club and the Fighting Pheasants baseball club. Pending the approval of the United States Hockey League and the American Association of Professional Baseball, majority ownership in the Stampede and Pheasants will transfer to SD Sports and Entertainment LLC, a group of regional businessmen. The group is led by Robert Naegele III, a former minority owner of the Minnesota Wild NHL hockey team, and that team’s chief operating officer, Matt Majka.
