BRANDON, S.D. – The Dakota Schoolers basketball team held their Schoolers Spring Jam this past weekend in Brandon. The Schoolers have two members of the Pierre Governor basketball team on it’s boys 17 age group coached by Kent Mueller in Zach Hanson and Lane Severyn. This year’s event was visited by several Division 1 head coaches due to a change in NCAA recruiting rules allowing those coaches to scout individual player in person during the month of April. South Dakota State head coach Scott Nagy and newly named University of Nebraska head coach Tim Miles were both in attendance along with some 30 other coaches from the NCAA and NAIA levels. This was the first tournament of the summer season for the Schoolers. Next weekend the Schoolers will travel to Eagan, Minnesota to compete in the Howard Pully Sabes Invitational.
