PIERRE, S.D. (AP) – South Dakota’s top students are being recognized at a banquet Monday in Pierre.
At least one student from every high school in the state will be invited to take part in the annual Academic Excellence Recognition Banquet.
Approximately 500 students, parents and educators attend the annual event. Each school selects one student for every 100 graduating students. Students are selected based on academic criteria like GPA and standardized test scores.
This year’s event is scheduled for Monday from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Best Western Ramkota Hotel in Pierre.
The Associated School Boards of South Dakota has organized the event since 1990.
