Governor Tennis has tough First Day in Rapid City

¬†¬†¬† RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Pierre Governor tennis team began play in the Rapid City Invitational Tennis tournament yesterday. They played doubles yesterday and wrapping up the tournament today in Rapid City with Singles competiton. In number 1 doubles the team of Hans Leong and Jared Smith finished 4th losing to the Rapid City Stevens duo 10-5. In number 2 doubles, Nathan Ellenbecker and Connor Shoop lost to the Aberdeen Roncalli duo 10-5 to claim a 4th place finish and in number 3 doubles, Ethan Case and Mitchell Hanson got to the championship match before losing to the Rapid City Central duo 10-5 to claim second place. In a dual held yesterday before the start of the Rapid City tournament, the Governors dropped a 8-1 verdict to Sioux Falls O’Gorman. The number 3 doubles team of Case and Hanson won the only match in the dual defeating the O’Gorman duo 10-6. The dual loss to the Knights dropped the Governors duala record to 10-4 on the season.
