PIERRE, S.D. – The Pierre Post 8 American Legion Baseball program held it’s annual Roast Beef Sandwich Fund Raising feed last night at the American Legion Cabin in Pierre.  During the two hour fundraiser, the Hometown Hero Award was presented to a pair of men who have helped the baseball program by building a off season pitching, hitting and fielding complex.  Daryl and Brad Reinke were presented with the annual award given out by Modern Woodman, who also sponsored last night’s fundraiser.  The Reinke’s along with about 16 other volunteers added batting cages in the empty basement of their business, Reinke Gray Wealth Mangagment this past winter that is open to all players of the Post 8 program.  The space also was large enough that players can field ground balls and a couple of pitching mounds were also used.  Brad’s son and Daryl’s grandson, Shay, plays in the Post 8 baseball program.  Nearly 50 players used the facility this past winter.
