MILLER, S.D. – Wessington Springs won the Boys Division while James Valley Christian had the best score of the day yesterday at the Miller Invitational Golf Tournament. Stanley County finished 9th in the 9 team boys field with a 336. Wessington Springs fired a 271 team total to win the 18 hole tournament. Nick Gillen of White Lake fired an 86 on a windy day in Miller to claim a two stroke individual championship. Elliot Shoup led Stanley County with a 104 and a 20th place finish. Seth Vandenhemel finished 25th with a round of 107. Blake Onkin finished with a 125 for a 28th place finish and Soren Iverson finished 41st in the 43 man field with a round of 144. In the Girls Division, James Valley Christian posted a 8 shot win with a 351 team total. Tara Nihart fired a 103 to claim a one shot victory. Teams from Highmore and Lyman also competed in the tournament.
