McLaughlin Man Sentenced For Sex Abuse of Minors

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) – A 40-year-old McLaughlin man has been sentenced to nearly six years in prison for sexual abuse of minors.
Michael Seibel was convicted in August of two counts of sexual abuse of a minor and two counts of abusive sexual contact. The charges related to two victims on the Standing Rock Indian Reservation.
U.S. District Judge Charles Kornmann sentenced Seibel this week to 71 months in custody and 5 years of supervised release, nearly $2,000 in restitution and $400 in special assessments to the victim assistance fund.
Seibel was turned over to the custody of the U.S. Marshal to begin serving his sentence.
