BURNSVILLE, Minn. – Augustana freshman Jenelle Trautmann and junior Caitlin Moran of Northern State have earned post season softball honors from the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. Trautmann was named Freshman of the Year after leading the Vikings in hits, RBI’s and total bases while her .400 batting average was second on the team. The Pitcher/Infielder has appeared in 88 games this spring including 27 pitching performances where she leads the Vikings with 19-5 record, 115 strikeouts and a 2.27 ERA. Moran was a top hitter in the league as she was ranked in the top two in six categories while breaking the NSIC record in at-bats and steals during the conference season while crushing the school record in stolen bases. Moran led the Wolves while hitting .400 in conference play, good for fifth overall while leading the league in runs, runs scored per game and stolen bases as she set a new NSIC record by swiping 18 bases during conference play and set a school record with 40 overall. Moran also was named to the NSIC Gold Glove team with a .964 fielding percentage at second base.
