Zonta Club of Pierre/Fort Pierre to Give Out Service Dollar Awards

PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) Several local organizations are to receive a portion of $6,500 in grants from the Zonta Club of Pierre-Fort Pierre. The organizations, which support the mission of Zonta International that will be given service dollar awards by the local group include:
Central SD RSVP
Central SD Teen Court
Dakota Horse Stars Therapeutic Riding Center
Capital Area United Way “Girls on the Run” Program
Rawlins Municipal Library “Poolside Reading” Program
Pierre Area Referral Service Backpack Program and Food Pantry
SD Discovery Center “Women in Science” Program
The Right Turn, Inc.
Oahe Inc.
Boys and Girls Club of the Capital Area
Pierre/Fort Pierre Kids Voting
Missouri Shores Domestic Violence Shelter
World Teach Inc.
Shirley Gross, who is the Program Coordinator of the Pierre Indian Learning Center will be the guest speaker at the grant award event and in addition, $2,900 in scholarships will be awarded for college and technical school scholarships for graduating seniors-and for Capital University Center students. Zonta International is made up of members who work to advance the status of women worldwide through service and advocacy.
