PIERRE, S.D. (AP) – The South Dakota Department of Health says four flu deaths were reported last week.
The department in its influenza weekly summary says that brings the total for this season to 15 flu-related deaths, with 14 in the 63-to-95 age group and one in the 50-to-64 age group. There have been 149 hospitalizations this season.
The department says that both the severity and geographic spread were low for the week.
South Dakota has had 461 lab-confirmed cases so far this season.
