Mobridge, SD – (DRG News) The Bridge City Coin and Stamp Club of Mobridge is excited for Coin Week April 15-21. This years theme is “Change in Money: Cowries to Credit Cards.”
Club members have set up exhibits at the A.H. Brown Library, the Chamber of Commerce Office, Dacotah Bank, Great Western Bank and Wells Fargo Bank. You can find club sponsored contest entry forms available at all exhibit locations. Karla Bieber of the A.H. Brown Library is having a coin coloring contest for kids K-2nd grade and 3rd – 5th grades. First place prizes are $2 bills. Second prizes are $1 presidential coins. All entries will receive at least a foreign coin as a prize. The club also provided numismatic questions to Karen Bricks for KOLY Dairy Queen Trivia during the week. The local Coin and Stamp Club is also adding a daily prize of the 2009 Lincoln Log Cabin Cent and a sample blank cent before it was struck with its design.
On the national level this is the 89th year the American Numismatic Association has sponsored National Coin Week activities.
