Semi Trailer Damaged in Early AM Collision with Train Bridge

PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) The Pierre Police Department responded to an accident early this morning in which a semi trailer collided with the train bridge on Pierre Street. Pierre Police Captain Elton Blemaster says the semi, driven by 27-year-old Dustin E. Scheidtengland of Victorville, California, turned northbound onto Pierre Street from Sioux Avenue and the top of the driver side corner of the semi’s trailer was crushed in the collision with the bridge. The trailer sustained about $700 damage, there was no damage to the semi and once again, the train viaduct escaped damage in the accident, which was reported about 1:15 a.m. this morning.
