PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) Electrical pedestals damaged during last year’s flood at Oahe Downstream Recreation Area have been repaired and officials say Campground Number One is now open. District Park Supervisor Pat Buscher says the campground had power restored Friday and 31 electrical sites are available. Also, the comfort station is open with hot showers. In addition, the Oahe Downstream dump station and the playground in Campground Number Two are open. Buscher says Campgrounds 2 and 3 are going to stay closed to camping until electrical work is completed in those areas. Camping is available on a first-come, first-served basis until May 18. That’s the day that campsites can be reserved. Reservations can be made 90 days before arrival-online at www.campsd.com or by calling 1-800-710-2267.
