Miller Area’s Paterka to play for Northern State

ABERDEEN, S.D. (Rod Fisher Dakota Radio Group) – Miller senior Darin Paterka is one of 5 recruits announced yesterday by Northern State head men’s basketball coach Paul Sather to play for the Wolves beginning next season. Peterka led Miller to a 17-4 record during his senior season averaging 26.4 points, 10.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 5.1 steals for the Rustlers this season. He was named to the Class A All-State first-team for the second season in a row and is a finalist for the South Dakota Mr. Basketball award that will be announced later this month. Peterka leaves Miller as the all-time leading scorer scoring 1,754 points and the all-time leader in 3-pointers made with174. Paterka is joined in the NSU recruiting class by 6’7 twin brothers Brady and Brian Maxwell of Mitchell. 6-9 center Zach Kranig of Viborg-Hurley and 6’2 Mack Arvidson from Grand Forks, North Daktoa.
