FORT PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) Tonight brings a Fort Pierre Candidate Forum, as the city prepares for Tuesday’s elections. Residents in Fort Pierre will vote for their candidate of choice for Mayor and will fill two city council seats. Tonight’s candidate forum is being held at the AmericInn in Fort Pierre and is being organized by the Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee. Chamber CEO Laura Schoen Carbonneau says the event starts at 6:00 p.m. and will be broken into two segments.

Schoen Carbonneau says people have already submitted questions which will be asked tonight, but those attending will also have the ability to offer additional questions.

Schoen Carbonneau says forum’s like tonights are important, because they give people direct contact with candidates for office, and hear directly from them on a variety of issues.

Again, the candidates running for city council will be featured starting at 6:00 p.m. and the segment for the two candidates for the mayoral race will start at 7:00 p.m.
