PIERRE, S.D. – (DRG News) The South Dakota National Guard’s 152nd Combat Sustainment Support Battalion returns to Pierre today-to a parade and welcome home ceremony. The unit left Pierre in July and served in Afghanistan. They returned to Fort Hood, Texas last week. The 68 members of the unit will fly into Pierre today and will be the focus of a parade, which starts at 2:00 p.m. at the National Guard Armory. It will travel west from there on Wells and Sioux Avenues, north on Pierre Street to Euclid Avenue, east on Capitol Avenue and north on Jefferson Avenue. The parade ends at Riggs High School, where there will be a welcome home ceremony starting at 3:30 p.m. Speakers include Governor Dennis Daugaard, Pierre Mayor Laurie Gill and Major General Timothy Reisch-adjutant general of the South Dakota National Guard.
