MOBRIDGE, SD- A man whose voice is familiar to many radio listeners in north-central South Dakota has passed away.
Pat Morrison died Monday at the age of 92. Morrison was the sports director for the Dakota Radio Group’s KOLY AM and FM stations in Mobridge from 1956 until he retired in August of 2016. One of his many honors includes being inducted into the South Dakota Sports Hall of Fame in 2005. (http://www.sdshof.com/inductees/pat-morrison/)
There will be a celebration of Morrison’s life Sunday at 2pm at the Scherr Howe Event Center in Mobridge. The public is welcome to share pictures and stories of him on his Facebook page as well.
KOLY 1300 AM will air a tribute to Morrison Friday afternoon at 2. The tribute–which will also be streamed live on www.drgnews.com— will include archived games and many stories from well wishers at his 90th birthday two years ago.
